“A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.” ~Leopold Stokowski. Music is always something we will have and something you’ll always use. If they teach classes on how to right a sentence they should have a class on how to put your words to song. Music I’d say is one of the most prominent ways to share your thought. Today I’ll write about how adding a unique music class will affect the students here by showing them how to express themselves.
“Without music life would be a mistake.” ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. Music to most is a place to hide and a place to truly smile. It’s a place to dream it’s a place to morn. What else in this world could ever be so many things as what music has become. In music there is a sense of understanding that no matter what you have to say people will get you. Without music life would be so bland and colorless. Music is what feelings sound like. If there is a class on how to find Rome in Italy , there should be a class on giving the sentence a place.
“Express through music what colors we can’t see.” I don’t know about you but when I hear an “F sharp minor 7” it makes me think of an autumn afternoon where the leaves are falling through the branches creating beams of light through the sun set. Music gives people a different outlook on life and it helps us understand different viewpoints. If there is a class on how to paint, there should be a class on giving the sentence color.
“Music's the medicine of the mind.” ~John A. Logan Music cures hopes and sorrows, in bad times it pulls you through. When I watched my best friend kill himself slowly on cocaine all I could do is hear kids from school talk about oh did you hear what He did last week… all I could do is stand back and watch as the one I loved so much was pulled away from me. But music of love, care, and hope pulled me through those rough times singing “you are my provider God!” ”all things are done for me through you!” and “oh how You love us.” God through music got me through those feelings. If we have a class on how to give someone CPR we should have a class on the true medicine of music.
Music is the universal language of mankind. Music is a language class with tone. There are so many things in school we need but what we don’t see is often times the most important. So why not make a class that we could see but that we can feel. We at Scottsbluff High School should have a class teaching us what affect music has on us, how it makes us feel, and how it heals.
Replace Music with GOD.
